I’m 16, and I want to go on a safe, reasonable diet. However, I’m really tall, and I don’t want to stunt my growth because I’m not eating well enough. Is it okay?
Well if you are on a safe, reasonable diet then you should be eating well. Probably even better.
So no, it shouldn’t stunt your growth
And since you’re 16 you probably won’t grow very much more anyway.
Good luck
Of course its okay to eat reasonably. What the heck do you mean by “safe”. Just eat food.. Have a balanced diet and don’t worry about nonsense like stunting your growth…
As a nurse, I want to tell you to consult your Dr.
But as a female and being 5’10″ at 16 and hating basketball it was really hard. I say increase your water intake, increase vegetables and fruits. Bake your meats instead of fried.
If your diet consists of healthy choices then no it will not stunt your growth. Like iron and calcium
It will not stunt your growth. First of all, dairy to keep you gr owing bones strong. Complex carbs to give you energy.
Protein to give you lean muscle. Meals should include on 30% carbs. That is were we gain weight. I do anyway. To much pasta, bread and cereal. Keep those to a minimal. Try to avoid simple carbs like chocolate cakes and desserts that are many sugar.
Don’t go on a crash diet or any extreme diet.
They all fail at the end.
Just eat healthy like fish and veggie.
Skip any oil based or sugar based sauce.
Instead use hot sauce or mustard.
Well, aren’t you on a diet now? You may not think of it that way but whatever your eating style is, that is your diet. So when you consider changing that diet, you want it to be for the best of your health. Good healthy eating habits is pretty much all you need when you are young. We are a little over-fed here in this country. We have a humongous amount of food choices so don’t feel like you are eating poorly when you change your dietary habits. A good balance of protein and other nutrients, including fats should be a healthy part of your lifestyle. Just becaue you might have easy access to sodas, treats etc, doesn’t mean to take advantage of the access. Watch the frequency that you eat. I can’t tell you what to eat but I will tell you to consume only one serving of whatever it is per setting. If you eat healthy, you will not hurt your body. Good luck to you.
Growth is more based on your genes and not the food you eat
