So i’m on my seventh day of being a lacto-ovo vegetarian and have some questions. I’ve been eating a lot of quorn products, salads, fruit, peanuts, etc. This is probably my fourth or fifth attempt at going completely veggie, but before I started this time, I read a lot on websites about making the switch. I’m a 15 year old female if that helps at all. I’m wondering what a good vegetarian cookbook would be for starting to cook my own meals. Also is it okay to eat so much of the meat replacement products? (like quorn, boca, gardenburger, etc) And also I can’t find the gardenburger riblets at our local grocery store, do I have to go to a heath food store or something? I also want to make sure that I’m being as healthy as I can so some tips from long time vegetarians would be very welcome! Thanks in advance and sorry that was so long!
Stop eating so many mock meats. They are processed foods, and just like all processed foods, they should be eaten sparingly.
You should check online for good cookbooks.Personally, I prefer websites such as Veg Cooking.

Eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables daily.Incorporate beans, nuts, seeds and whole grains to your diet.Limit processed foods.
if there is a whole foods near you, try there. they have a bunch of vegan food products but i also did see gardenburgers at trader joes. if not any natural organic market should carry them.
as for the cookbook, i absolutely this one called ‘veganomicon.’

Sarah Kramer’s cookbooks are really great, especially for younger people, because of how fun they are. Try-How it all Vegan,In the Garden of Vegan and La Dolce Vegan. You will find tons of great, fun, healthy and non-healthy recipes. You won’t have to feel deprived since she includes tons of recipes that are vegan versions of meat dishes. If you’re vegetarian,I suppose you could add real cheese in place of soy cheese, eggs instead of egg replacer and even real milk instead of “milk”.
As some other have said, eating meat replacement foods are not good for you. It’s like eating hot dogs or McDonald’s. While it’s not quite as bad, since there’s no meat, they’re still tons of salt, preservatives and other chemicals. They are to be eaten sparingly.
There’s lots of fun ways to eat vegetarian foods and be healthy and tasty so you’ll never get bored. I have been doing it for many years. Good luck!
