The Smart for Life diet has a simple, yet tantalizing tagline, “Eat Cookies.  Lose Weight.  It’s that Simple.”  Add those cookies to a low calorie, sensible dinner, and you have the Smart For Life weight loss plan.  It’s an easy-to-follow plan that promises results, and the cookie angle isn’t so bad either.

Smart for Life has what they call and “At-Home Lifestyle Program,” which is comprised of the following four steps:  purchasing “Smart Foods,” setting manageable goals, taking part in weekly Support phone calls, and using the customer service line when needed.

“Smart Foods” refer to the various cookie bars they sell that are used as meal replacements.  The dieter eats Smart Foods throughout the day, adding one sensible meal when they prefer.  Setting manageable goals is pretty straightforward, and they stick to the 1- 2 pounds per week recommendation that is pretty par-for-the-course in the weight loss industry.

Before embarking on the Smart For Life plan, it is recommended that dieters obtain a high-quality multivitamin.  As in any calorie restricted diet plan, it’s important to be sure that the body is still getting adequate vitamins and minerals.  The second recommendation is rid the kitchen of tempting food items such as high calorie snacks, high fat treats, and other diet “no-no’s.”  Additionally, filling the kitchen with fresh fruits and vegetables and low fat and low calorie snacks is the wise way to go.

Smart For Life recommends the intake of plenty of water with their cookies, a recommendation recently borne out by scientific study.  One prominent university found that drinking plenty of water during a diet helped in weight loss.

The plan instructs dieters to eat 6 Smart Cookies each day, about every 2 – 3 hours.  Dinner (or lunch, if you prefer) should be a lean, low fat meal that includes 5 cups of vegetables.  This may seem a bit of a tall order, but remember that otherwise, the dieter is only consuming the cookies, which just don’t have the nutrition found in fresh foods. Your total caloric intake will be around 1200 calories.

The Smart Foods are made from almost entirely organic ingredients that are natural and free of preservatives, pesticides and other toxins.  While the program itself is a meal replacement program, the idea is that it trains people to eat small meals throughout the day, rather than eat a lot in one sitting.

Smart For Life Cookie diet is a simple program that promises fairly quick and easy weight loss.  Using their meal replacement cookies and drinking plenty of water, dieters will start to see pounds come off if they follow the plan.
