My mom didn't allow me to drink soda (no matter what kind) until I was like thirteen-fourteen. Which I think is OD. My kid is about to be six and I only allow soda at fast food joints, partys, or if we go to visit someone and its all they have. I think they can regularly drink soda at around eight years old. Three is totally, incredibly and definitely too young to start. I would take my kid out that daycare so fast its not even funny. If diet is an issue I think the parent would let the provider know. I have seen them serve that at many day care centers. However, it is just my opinion but I believe that they should be served milk or 100 % fruit juice. The chance that they could be harmed is probably very small, but to be safe, I'd stick to milk, juice, and water.
