Question: How healthy is to eat “protein only” dinner?
Im 25 y-o guy. Ive always been slim, but ive gained some weight. I jog and run sometimes and feel good, but i want to have a healthy lifestyle. So I started using a really nice software called crosstrainer to manage my eating and work outs. After over a month of use, the software shows Ive been eating too much carbs (good percentage of sugar too) and to little protein. That’s maybe cause I usually eat high carb breakfast and dinners (bread, pancakes with syrup, pizzas, sandwiches…) and eat protein for lunch (steak, pork, meatballs, …).

I thought about changing only my dinner eliminating (or reducing) carbs. Ive been doing it for 4 days now and feel ok. I don’t do this as a weight loss program, but mostly as an experiment for healthier eating.

What do you think?? Is this healthy(er) as a long term or permanent “diet”?

PS: Ive been researching and found out there’s a diet called “carbs curfew”, that’s very similar to what i have planned.

Answer:

Answer by Anth R
No, it’s not healthy to eat protein only dinner, but it is fine ot cut out the carbs. You needs to get some fiber with that protein. Add some raw or steamed vegetables with that like broccoli or carrots.

Question: What is a great “diet” or fast to get me unbloated?
I just need to get rid of water and/0r salt bloat. Whats a good fast or liquid fast? How about juiceing diets? And I use the word diet meaning a change in eatting! Please do not answer with nasty comments about diets ( past questions!) I just love to eat healthy and would like to detox! I have been bad! Bad foods, late night eatting…etc! Thanks!

Answer:

Answer by heylover76
You can’t do it fast and right at the same time. If you got a wedding to go to and need to drop some water weight just go to Sauna/Steam room and just sit there and sweat some extra water out of you. If you just want to lose weight the right way than eat GOOD food and excercise. Nothing new I’m sure.

Successful Healthy Diet Plan

Before delving more on what a good it is necessary to understand what it means to each of us. Quite simply, when we hear this term our minds immediately conjure up visions of having to eat salads minus any dressings and we also believe that it means eating toasts from whole grains and without butter. In a nutshell, this kind of diet will, to most of us, mean having to eat boring foods each and every day of our lives. However, this is not the real truth because you can create a diet plan that is healthy interesting and effective.

The right kind of can actually be made to be quite interesting and it can go beyond eating dishes that contain no fat and it also means eating foods other than tasteless and bland dishes with few calories in them. You can certainly continue to eat tasty items of foods and you can also change the type of foods you eat so that you are not forced into eating the same types of foods day in and day out.

You only need to start off the plan by looking at a food pyramid and then find out which foods from this pyramid can help you achieve a healthier body. To get more options you should search over the net to find out from the many different sites what foods are good for you and which recipes you should make use of to create the right kind of healthy but enjoyable foods.

Even after you have created a diet plan that consists of healthy foods it is necessary that you act with resolve and determination in sticking to the diet plan and not giving up when things become slightly more difficult. In addition, you have to learn to avoid certain kinds of messages that are promoted by various kinds of media in which the message is skewed in order to serve certain purposes.

And, once you have identified the right diet plan to keep you healthy you must then persevere in following this diet and not give too easily when things become difficult. It is also a good idea to steer clear of misleading messages being spread by the media that are trying to put across certain ‘facts’ in order to promote their own agendas.

The good news is that following a healthy food diet does not in any way mean that you have to permanently give up eating pizzas or other foods that you love to eat. All that is required is that instead of eating an entire pizza that you limit your consumption to a single part of the pizza.

And, if you love chocolate bars then you only need to remember to eat the bar over several days and not in a single go.

A does not mean having to fit your body into a straightjacket. Instead it means eating healthy foods which in turn involves avoiding extreme actions and instead you have to focus on consuming healthy foods and being sensitive to the needs of your body

Question: Is my WeightLifting diet healthy?
Ive been currently trying to redefine a “Healthy Diet” for something that works for me, im a 5’9 m 190lb and going for cut! i have a 23% body fat and im working for some toning this is what my daily intake of food is like:

Pre Work out/Breakfast: 1 Whey Protien Shake with milk, with 3 scrambled Eggs and a small bowl of oatmeal.

Lunch/Post work out: 2 Chicken sandwiches with water or gatorade or id eat 2 PB&J with milk..

Dinner: Fried Rice with 5 eggs

Pre Sleep: 1 Protein Shake for recovery

What should i cut back on or what should i increase please help!

Answer:

Answer by b_morrow_98
I’d cut back on the eggs. You may want to try egg beaters or just egg whites for your fried rice and egg dishes. Supplement the loss of protein with powder or soy. Cut the breads and use more whole grain. Just eat more chicken.

Don’t forget lots of green leafy vegetables (Broccoli, spinach) great source of minerals.

Answer:

Answer by Clinton
The pattern for losing weight is not difficult – eat less and exercise more often – the problems surface when we in reality try to put that into operation! There are loads of temptations out there don’t you think?! I uncovered some good help by following the site in the box below, they have loads of tips, I melted away 6 pounds by following their techniques.

Question: How do you define a “diet?”?
To me I feel like people have made diets synonymous with the word temporary. Meaning that they basically eat junk get to a point where they need to lose weight and then decide eat healthy, follow a fad diet, or don’t eat at all and once they lost their weight, they resume their normal course of eating. It’s a constant cycle which seems to give it a temporary connotation.

I feel like it should means a lifestyle change, meaning that’s it permanent that your always going to eat healthy because simply its good for your body. I guess that’s why I hesitate to use the word “diet” in my answers.

Answer:

Answer by Dave
Your right, it is a lifestyle change. I learned that a long time ago. Most people in the world dont understand that, they lose a few pounds, get to where they want to be, and then forget about all the stuff they learned about eating right and exercising, and they get fat again. Most the time they get even fatter before they went on a “diet.”

Question: Why do some women (and men, lol) have all these different diets when they can just follow the “Sunnah Diet”?
Salamulaykoum, hope your all well Insha Allah.

I have noticed that some women (and some men) say they’re on diets and then when I ask them, “how’s your diet?”, they always end up saying:

a) “I’ve put on more weight!!”
b) “I’ve changed my diet…”
c) “I’ve come to a conclusion that diets just don’t work for me!”
or d) “What diet? I said I was a on diet? Girl, I must have been high!” lol. And then an hour later, they look in the mirror and remember their diet haha

I used to be one of those women but Insha Allah not anymore, lol. I’ve changed my diet to the ‘Sunnah diet’.
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
Allah ta’ala says in the Qur’an:

Aouthubiallah Minashaytanirajeem
Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjid, and eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess. [7:31]

[Saying], “Eat from the good things with which We have provided you and do not transgress [or oppress others] therein, lest My anger should descend upon you. And he upon whom My anger descends has certainly fallen.” [20:81]
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – -
Now some sayings of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him):

On the authority of Al-Miqdaam ibn Maadiy-Karib who said: I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying:
“No human ever filled a vessel worse than the stomach. Sufficient for any son of Adam are some morsels to keep his back straight. But if it must be, then one third for his food, one third for his drink and one third for his breath.”
[Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi, An-Nasaa'I, Ibn Majah – Hadith sahih]

On seeing a fat man, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him said:
“If you did not have a paunch (belly fat), it would be better for you. He also said: Overeating does not go with good health.”
[Al-Haythami]

The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“Food for one is enough for two and food for two is enough for three and food for three is enough for four.”
[Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi, An-Nasaa'I, Ibn Majah – Hadith sahih]
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – -
At the end of the day, Allah ta’ala would not have willed for the Qur’an ayats to be revealed or the ahadith to be said if our diet was not important. Diet does not mean necessarily to lose weight but rather to maintain a healthy lifestyle and doing what’s best for your body. We are the caretakers of our bodies and we must keep them in good shape because Allah ta’ala owns our bodies. Think of it like this, if a friend lent you their favourite item and you gave it back to them in a horrid state, think about how your friend would feel…

So my sisters and brothers, let us not indulge in all these scam diets. They’re just wasting your time and efforts. I mean c’mon some “slimming programmes” don’t come cheap and they’re not that effective, are they? Why use a money making scam when you can follow a free, halal and part of your faith, diet? Alhamdulillahi Rabilalamin.

All the best everyone and Insha Allah I hope someone gets inspired to start eating according to the Sunnah.

Honestly, you don’t need to deprive yourself from food, just try to eat only when you need to. Don’t eat too much. This might start out hard (I’ll be honest, it’s quite hard for me since I’m a greedy so and so ) but subhnallah, in a week I already have felt like I’ve achieved something. I feel more active and I feel less heavy just by using the 1/3 rule.

I’ve also started to sit on the floor. When I sit on the floor I also press my stomach against my leg, (I can’t describe the position properly, if someone can find the hadith, I’d be grateful) just so that I feel fuller quicker So I eat less anyway.

Anyways, take care
Wa Alaykoum As Salam Wa Rahmatuallah:)
Oh gosh, sorry that it’s a bit long.

Answer:

Answer by ??? ?????
I just asked a question like this :

http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ah9yhO_2LmSNa_gtNFXKWJUPMH1G;_ylv=3?qid=20100525042422AAy5Ejn

“How should we eat and drink in Islaam and what is the value of following this unique aspect of Islaam ?”
  Salaam !

Healthy Diet Recipes – Key to a Healthy Lifestyle

Today, we all are living in a very fast society. People don’t have time, to pay attention to their eating habits. Recent studies have shown due to this fast lifestyle, people are becoming obese. Obesity is the root of different problems. More and more people are habitual for having junk food that has a lot of fat content. No one follows healthy diet recipes. In fact very less people are aware about healthy diet and nutritional value of food items. Food that we all take, lack balanced nutrients, vitamins, minerals, etc.

It is not only with people of one particular nation, this is the scenario worldwide. Fast food outlets have become our second home. Not only adults but children are also suffering from obesity. The food that we eat is not sufficient for daily body requirements and this is why we lose health. Healthy diet recipes are made on the concept of food nutrition and calorie count. Such diets are well balanced and provide the elements which are required by our body in absolute quantity.

Some people think that healthy cooking food items lack taste but it is not true. Food experts like dieticians and nutrition experts suggest several ways that keep the food tasty and also healthy. There are a lot of magazines and food guides available in markets that give different healthy recipes tips. You must refer such reading material and start eating healthy food items. You will feel the change yourself. In fact a lot of people have started taking balanced diets and they eat food as per its nutritional value and contents. Many of such people have reported a better lifestyle and they feel healthy and strong.

Healthy food items help us develop strong immunity that fight germs, bacteria, etc. and of course save us from diseases. Healthy diet recipes also provide a lot of opportunities to have different food items so that you don’t get bored and miss the food items that you were taking before having planned diet. Having healthy food is simply enough to give us feeling of freshness and sound health. Many people got benefitted by just changing their eating habits. They are now more healthy, enjoy their work, stay fresh for long and even do not feel need to go to gym or health clubs.

To begin with healthy food items, first of all, you need to start taking a look at the nutritional value, they give. Avoid having food item that has much higher calorie content. Such food item, generally have much fats that increases cholesterol level in our body and therefore chances of blood pressure and heart attacks increase. Food items that lack fiber content are very difficult to digest by our digestive system and therefore such items are to be avoided.
