Q&A: Do you think it’s safe for me to go on the “Navy Diet”?

Question by Mikejs180: Do you think it’s safe for me to go on the “Navy Diet”?
Here is the Navy Diet:

http://www.mcotis.com/navydiet

At least I think that’s it. I’m 16 and I’m about 15 lbs overweight according to my BMI I’m like 15-20 lbs overweight. I’m like 160 lbs and about 5′7/8. I’m trying to get done to about 141. I only plan on going on the diet for about 2 weeks as I’m aware I don’t need to drop a ton of weight.

For anyone thats go on this diet or been in the navy how much weight have you lost and as for a drink other than breakfast I assume you’re only suppose to drink water which is fine because I don’t drink anything else. Now my question is, is this diet “healthy” for someone like me right now? Also, how did you look after you lost the weight? (Too skinny, or healthy/ripped?) I also plan on joining the gym. Right now I’m also planning on joining the military when I turn 18 so I want to make sure I’m as fit as possible.

Question by Missy: weight loss… PLEASE HELP.?
I have been dieting for 3 weeks now. I am doing the meal replacement “Ultra slim”. which is 2 shakes, snack’s and a sensible dinner. I have been eating well as well as lots of water (Only water).
I have also been running for half an hour 5 days a week and sit-ups, push-ups, squats and lunges every night. I so far have not lost anything… PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I AM DOING WRONG??????

Maybe all your fat in weight is being replaced by muscle – they weigh way more than fat; a small amount of muscle might weigh as much as fat.

I don’t really think eating meal replacements are good though; you should just go the natural way and practise moderation :)

I’m no expert in this really, I’m just guessing.

is it safe to feed a german shepherd the”raw food diet”?

Question by Terrance T: is it safe to feed a german shepherd the”raw food diet”?

Best answer:

Answer by shepard’s rule
I would not feed my german shepherds raw food all the time and nothing else. Although our breeder was giving our male puppy bits of raw hamburger when he was 8 weeks old. she said it was because he was not able to get to his mother’s milk as well as his siblings. I still give it to him to give him medicine from time to time.

Is it safe to excercise and “diet” during pregnancy?

Question by Ruth G: Is it safe to excercise and “diet” during pregnancy?
Ok so I just found out a couple of days ago that I am pregnant. I already have two kids and after my second one I gained TONS of weight!! So i got serious, excercised, ate super healthy and drank a protein shake to supplement my dinner. Within 9 months I had gone down from 195 to 140! I was so proud of myself! So here is my question I am seriously soooo afraid to gain a lot of weight again and still watch what I eat. I dont eat any red meat but I do eat lots of salads and fish and still drink a protein shake for dinner. Lately I’ve been feeling hungrier than ever like my body WANTS me to eat more :(
Is it safe to still watch what you eat to the extent that I am and excercise everyday? and what is the most I can gain without hurting my baby’s health?

As lomg as you are careful what you eat and dont do any crazy diets then you should be fine, and swimming is a great excercise for pregnant women.
Good luck and Congrats!

I’ve hit a weight loss “plateau”, and I’ve exactly a month to lose 10lbs. What to do?

Question by Tulip: I’ve hit a weight loss “plateau”, and I’ve exactly a month to lose 10lbs. What to do?
I’ve lost 10lbs easily in 2 month with a good diet and little to no exercise. This time I added exercised to my diet and I can’t seem to lose anymore weight. Yes I understand that I may be building muscle mass, but there has to be some other way where I can get out of this plateau and lose a little more weight within a month. I lost 10lbs in April, stopped my diet for a month, and started it back in June. I’ve gained 2lbs, which I’m not worried about, yet it’s been over a month since I started exercising while back on my healthy diet as I was in April and the weight just wont budge.

Any suggestions besides hanging in there?
When I said I lost 10lbs easily in 2 months I meant 1 month.
I set myself for a goal of 1 month to lose weight because like a lot of people they say they are going on a diet and yet they are only on it for 2 days or so I set a short term goal for me to stick on, which I did. Then I stopped because I didn’t want tp overwhelm myself and give up if I set a longer goal.

I am about 5′6, 135lbs…and yes I have a normal BMI, and yes I’m at a healthy weight, but no I am not satisfied with it just yet. And my weight loss is for me and not to look good for anyone else.
Ok there are a few of you who understand what I’m talking about and many of you who think I dont know how to diet. Some of you think Im obsessed.

I am no obsessed. You do not call personal trainers that or people who are in the gym that working who look GREAT. So please do not call me that.
I increased my jog of 2 miles to 5 miles (3 during lunch our at work and 2 after work) for 3-4 times a week. I also weight lift, but not much since I use whatever weights I have at home

Q&A: My diet plan.. is it enough?

Question by anna: My diet plan.. is it enough?
Hi, im a highschool student, trying to drop about 20-25 pounds. There is no time limit but i would like to drop the weight and maintian it. I am 16 (turning 17 in a month) and female.

So what i thought i wiould do is
- since i dont eat breakfast i would drink the “slimfast meal replacement” drinks for breakfast for nutrition.. and possibly for lunch
- im not really up for replacing supper with the drink..
- Go to the YMCA on tuesdays for 1 hr workout and 1 hr yoga

Would that be enough? How many hours should i work out per week to lose weight? is one hour (workout) enough? and one hour of yoga would it help? should i go more often? twice a week?

How can i use slimfast milkshakes and protein bars to lose weight? what are some good weight lost kits?

HELP PLEASE!

i jsut want to drop 20-25 pounds, 30 at max
my BMI is 23.8.. so still in the ‘normal’ weight category, but i say im chubby

I’ve hit a weight loss “plateau”. WANT to lose 10 more lbs in a month, what more to do?

I’m 5′6, 135lb, my BMI is normal. If you wouldn’t tell great looking people at the gym to stop working out because they look healthy already and are fit, then please by all means do not tell me this nor tell me that I am obsessed with my weight.

I have increased my jog from 2 miles to 5 miles (3 during my lunch hour at work and 2 when I get home after work) I lift weights every other day.
My diet includes lots of water, fruits, veggies, fiber, protein (whey protein also)

What else to do?!?!

Q&A: need help with meals while body building?

Question by frustrated weightlifter>.<: need help with meals while body building?
ok so I go to school in the mornings work out in the early afternoon then usually go to work from 3, somtimes 5, to 9… I dont like eating alot when I get off work because it messes with my sleep but I cant really eat a big home cooked meal like I need/want with my weight training while Im at work cuz I dont get a break. anyone know what I could maybe eat that would be good to eat and be healthy/good for weight lifting diet. (trying to bulk up but not gain too much fat) currently Im doing protien bars/weight gainer shakes but is there any sort of real food maybe cuz I know its not great to eat a bunch of “meal replacement” stuff

If you do not have time to cook anything it is going to be pretty difficult, but possible. The best way to increase your protein is by eating lean meats. Fish, chicken, and turkey are all great examples. Most people do not have time or the money to eat these all the time. My suggestion for you is to incorporate quick and high protein meals with your protein bars/shakes. For instance, for lunch have a chicken sandwich, but have a lot of chicken in it!

Dinner you can have some fish with the protein shake. Eat the protein bars for snacks. Try to add some fruits and veggies in your diet as well. Hope I helped and good luck!

Is there any reason why parents would feed their 6 month old, Suddenly Slim, Body FX, a weight control bev mix

Question by evelynlopez1977: Is there any reason why parents would feed their 6 month old, Suddenly Slim, Body FX, a weight control bev mix
I recently babysat a 6 month old baby. His parents gave me a product called Suddenly Slim Body FX The label said it is “The perfect Meal Replacement”. It is a weight control Beverage Mix. The father said that the pediatrician said it was ok, but I have my doubts. This is what they are giving him instead of formula. This was the first time I met these people.

The baby also has the worse diaper rash I have ever seen. I think it is a yeast infection, but I am wondering if the stuff they feed him is causing it.

Here is a partial list of some ingredients from the company’s website.

Suddenly Slim is a weight loss program of diet pills and meal replacement shakes. Body FX. Each contain a large number of herbal ingredients which are common in diet pills, including: garcinia campogia, chromium picolinate, green tea, kola nut, hydroxycitric acid, chitin, dandelion root, cayenne, L-carnitine and many others

Should a 6 month old be consuming all that stuff?
