When you start to run you will need to have the calories in your body in order to burn them. By running and taking in fewer calories you may not have enough energy to burn. In order to make running effective you have to maintain the caloric intake you normally would. Drink plenty of water because runners often get dry mouth as they run plus you want to stay hydrated.
If you are a beginner don’t try to push yourself. As you run if you become winded you can try running for 10 minutes and walking for 10 minutes. This is great for beginners because you get work out while building up your stamina. Stay close to home if you are a beginner, if you are not used to running then you may become winded and you want to stay close to home incase you walk back. Remember when running it is not how fast you run that burns calories it is how far you run.
Running is a great cardio and make sure you get a great pair of shoes because running does take a toll on your feet. Start out running a short distance and increase the distance as you feel more comfortable.
